  Personal Introduction ( Education, Employment Experience)
      Prof Ding graduated with a BEng in Mechanical Engineering from China Textile University in 1982 and gained his PhD in Textile Engineering from Leeds University, UK, in 1986. Since then Prof. Ding has worked in Donghua University. In 1993-1994, he worked as a guest professor in RWTH Aachen, Germany.
      He was the dean of his college in 1997-1999 and is currently an elected member of the University Academic Committee, Degree Committee, Graduate Education Expert Board and the Director of the National Key Discipline of Textile Engineering. He serves as the Chairman of the Expert Board of Textile and Apparel under the State Degree Committee, Chairman of the State Committee for High Education Teaching in Textiles, and the elected member of the State Commission for Postdoctor Affairs. He also an elected member of the Governing Council of Shanghai Society for Composite Materials, Senior Member of the Shanghai Textile Engineering Society and the member of various academic societies. He is an adjunct professor in a number of Chinese universities and a member of editorial board for a number of journals.
      He has graduated 26 PhD students, 65 MSc students.
  Research
      His research interests involve processing technology of textiles, for both fashion industry and nor-traditional areas such as civil and structural, aerospace, medical field and information technology.
